Whiski Bar

This is a new session that’s just recently started up at the Whiski Bar on the Royal Mile. It’s on every Sunday evening and is run by a very nice lady who’s also great on the fiddle. She’s trying to get more people to come along, so pop in if you’re in the area. There’s usually a guitarist and I plan to start going along with my collection of whistles….

What time does this session start and is it on this week?

As far as I know this session is on every week and starts around 9pm.

I went last night for the first time and it was good fun, a nice mix of lots of different instruments and everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

There’s a different fiddler leading this session now, and more people are coming along… the last couple of times I’ve gone there’s been a couple of guitarists, some singers, and a percussion player (and me tootling along quietly on my whistles)… good fun!

Re: Whiski Bar

This bar only does paid music with invited guests from time to time. It is possible that you could join in but its not sought after and in many cases might be welcome. I have been doing Tuesday nights there for 7 years or so.

Re: Whiski Bar

Re: Whiski Bar

There’s nothing listed on the pub’s site or its Facebook page for Tuesdays any more. On Sundays there’s something called ‘Old Town Sessions’, but it may just be a gig.
