Hammersmith Irish Centre Session

Hi folks, thanks for making an infrequent visitor so welcome - I hope your session goes from strength to strength - and many more 3 part reels!

Cheers, hope to see you soon

Suspended during re-building, back in 2014

The Centre closed in March 2013 and is currently being redeveloped after having managed to buy the freehold after many generous donations. Completion date is hoped to be September 2014 or thereabouts at which time the session will re-commence

Re: Irish Cultural Centre

Thanks for making me welcome last night.
For potential visitors, I can remark that the session had commenced by 6.00. The repertoire was entirely main-stream Irish. A few tunes I didn’t know, but other players did. Wasn’t fast, and reels were in what I would say is the hornpipey rhythm. Also, it is far from intense, with no show-off playing of party pieces, with longish pauses between sets, and the bar adjacent.
I was there to see the stunning band Coig, and I see that the concert programme is very high standard……so I may be back despite being 2 hours away,
