I know of two places that have them. I moved away for quite some time and only just returned; so, I’ve got to confirm this info., but just in case someone’s searching, I’ll post it subject to confirmation.

Wednesday Nights--"This is a new traditional Irish session. I was in N.O. at Thanksgiving and heard they had a session there, so I went. There were two others there, a guitar and a hammer dulcimer player, and it turns out this was their first session. I haven’t heard how it is going. The Kerry Pub is in the French Quarter, about a block from (and on the same street as) the old Jax Brewery (now an indoor mall).

Regular sessions are no longer. There are regular live performances. Informal sessions crop up. Soooooo if you’re in the area…you might bring your instrument and pop in for a visit. I have a list of every Irish Pub in the city, by the way…quite a few. If you’re planning a trip, I’ll be happy to pass the list along. It’s unreal to me that there are so many Irish folk about, and I can’t find a session!

just to let people know, there is still a session in the kerry about once a month. if you keep an eye on their lineup you will see it on sundays usually at about 5 o clock. the last one there was the 5th of november 2006. so keep an eye out in about a month

another session has been organised for feb 11th 2007 from 5 pm to 8 pm. all welcome to join us for a great night.
