New SW Session at O’Donoghue’s Bar and Grill
This session is from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. It’s an open session - everybody is welcome.
This is more or less a resurrection of the Naples Sunday session. Marco is not far from Naples.
For questions about the session you can call me, Susanna Haslett, at 239-649-6325 or send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org
I play concertina.
Session on Vacation until October 7, 2012
O’Donoghue’s will be closed for vacation/remodeling until October 7, 2012, so the session is on vacation, as well.
Session starting time changed
Beginning on October 7, 2012, the starting time for the session will be 3:30 PM (instead of 3:00). The ending time remains the same, so the new session hours are:
Sundays, 3:30 - 6:00 PM.
O’Donoghue’s closing for a few weeks and re-opening in new location
O’Donoghue’s is moving to 591 S. Collier Blvd. They are closing the doors on their present location on December 31 2012 and re-oping mid-January 2013. Sunday session star at the new location on January 20.
So there will be no session on January 6 and 13, 2012.
O’Donoghue’s re-open is taking longer than expected
O’Donoghue’s is now expected to open on January 28, which would make the next session would be February 4. Check back here before you go, in case the re-opening is further delayed.
O’Donoghue’s Session now on, but with time change
The session now ends at 5:30 PM (the ending time was 6:00 PM before). Also, even though it starts at 3:30, they aren’t officially open until 4:00. The owner says that we can still start at 3:30, because they will be there to let us in. We have been able to get in and start around then, so far.
O’Donoghue’s Session now going Seasonal - November through March
Due to the lack of year-round resident (Irish) musicians in the Marco Island area, this session is not viable off-season. We will resume the sessions at O’Donoghue’s on November 3, 2013.
A few of us will be having occasional house sessions April though October and I will usually be able to organize a house session for visiting musicians. I live in Naples, which is a little more central to the general music community. So if you are visiting Marco, Naples, or another town in the vicinity, please let me know. My e-mail address is email@example.com.
O’Donoghue’s Session Suspended
The Session at O’Donoghue’s is still not on, but also still not out of the question. The owners are still trying to make up their minds. First, they wanted to wait until after the Superbowl. Then, because at their new location, they are so busy their dinner hour starts quite early. They might not want to give up the tables for diners. I am still waiting to hear back. If they decide to have us, then the session will only be on until the first week in April.
