This is the new venue for the Wed sessions that were previously held at the Woolpack and the Tiger

Other Sessions at the Tiger happen on Tuesdays and Fridays
Other sessions at the Sun happen Tues (open mike) Saturday 4.00pm and Sunday afternoon

This Wednesday session is now changed venue again and has returned to the Woolpack. The session is run by Gedpipes (who I know has had problems getting logged on to The Session

We are back in the Sun again. Problems with recaliterant Domino players in the Tiger!

This is a very friendly, small session. Regularly there are 3 -5 musicians. Commonly pipes, a flute or 2, mandolin and guitar. Occasional fiddle.
Great wee pub with good ale. An open fire in winter. Session begins at 8pm and continues till about 11:30. Mostly tunes with a very occasional song if the guitar players in the mood. Mostly Irish, Scottish and Northumbrian traditional music. Jigs, reels, polkas, slides and hornpipes. An occasional Strathspey and Carolan tune thrown in.

Thanks for welcoming me in the group. I enjoyed the banter and variation in pace (not solely didley jigs). I’ll definately pop back if in the area on the right night.

Addendum to the session details.
There is an open session on Saturday afternoons 4pm-7pm. Dynamic mix of instruments and players, can be just a couple to lots! All abilities and ages welcome. Generous landlord usually puts on some sandwiches and musicians qualify for a free drink!

I’m likely to be in the Holderness area in mid-Feb; am I right in thinking there is a current session at The Sun, Flemingate, Beverley on Wednesdays?

There is no session on wednesdays, the barmaid said the Saturday still happens though.
