New Session in Central Manchester on Fridays
The Session is at the Castle Pub on Oldham St Central Manchester. The pub is located at the other end of Oldham St from Piccadilly Gardens, near Ancote St.
The session is friendly and eclectic; dance tunes from many traditions being played.
The core of regular musicians play Northumberland Pipes, Fiddle, Concertina, Recorders, and Guitar.
The Pub has a relaxed atmosphere and serves well kept real ales.
All are welcome what ever their instrument or level of skill.
All the best PP
Polkas and slides
I am interested in the music of the Sliabh Luachra region of Kerry/Cork.
I also play fiddle as a hobby. Do you see this as a part of the session at the Castle Pub.
Sorry about the delay Jerry, no problems, come allong.

just wondering if this session is still running now?
Nope, don’t think so.
Looked in the other day when I was passing to quiz the staff. The other sessions I have heard about Manc all sound pretty hardcore, but my teacher is encouraging me to go out and find somewhere I can sit in.
The lass behind the bar was quite sweet, but clearly had no idea what I was talking about; and the regular who appeared welded to his bar stool said that the owner often had punk bands in, but no Irish music.
Methinks it has died 🙁
there hasn’t been any sessions in this pub for quite a while now. They often have loud bands on.
