The White Swan is a warm and friendly traditional Irish pub, located in the heart of St Albans City centre.
Wednesday evenings from 8:30pm - 11pm.

Medium? I thought this was a slow session …

3 week closure for refurbishment from 21st September 2015.

Advanced notice that our host The White Swan St Albans is going to be closed for refurbishment for three weeks starting 21st September 2015.
Arrangements for the Wednesday sessions during this period, i.e. those on 23rd & 30th September and 7th October are to be determined - watch this space!

Refurbishment update - update!

There will be no White Swan sessions on Wednesday 20th Jan, 27th Jan or 3rd Feb 2016 due to refurbishment.

Despite some rumours to the contrary, the White Swan session continues each Wednesday from 8:30pm.

A small gathering of musicians interested in Traditional Irish Music welcomes others to play or listen.

Is this event on Wednesday next, the perfect opportunity to sneak in and poison* the ‘resident DJ’? Coz a pub’ without any discotheque activity is something to strive for and a pub’ hellbent on promoting blokes with loud record players to the extent of actually employing a permanent live-in disc jockey is alarming**.

*Apart from a modicum more twerking last week, I doubt many punters noticed the difference …
