Weekly Irish Session with Randy Miller & Roger Kahle

"New" Irish session on Wednesday nights from 7-10pm at McNeill’s Brewery in Brattleboro — recently transplanted from McCliments Pub in Putney, where this popular full-speed session had a fine five-year run. Friendly and open to capable players.

McNeill’s has exceptionally fine locally-brewed beer (and alternative pints as well - cider, ginger, etc) plus appetizers and other light fare. Come for a pint and stay for the tunes (or vice versa). All ages are welcome in the pub.

Monthly All-Comers Session with Louisa Engle & Amanda Witman

Come one, come all, to the monthly All-Comers Session* at McNeill’s! Bring your fiddle/mandolin/whistle/flute/viola/guitar/accordion/bouzouki/mandola/banjo/smallpipes/etc. and join in with Celtic/Irish/Scottish/French-Canadian/Old-Time/Breton/New England/Contradance/etc. tunes to share at a pace that pleases the assembled company!

This is an inclusive session, where we are happy to play many different tunes at a variety of tempos to suit whoever shows up. Bring a tune and some gumption and come on out to play with us!

*We used to call this the Slow Jam, but since we play at whatever speed fits those who come, we changed the name. Also, "jam" in some people’s minds implies dumbeks and tambourines, which are fabulous in their own right, but have no place in a session of this sort. We hope that if anyone reading this disagrees, they might consider starting their own monthly "Anything Goes" Jam. We might even come!

Monthly Pub Sing with Tony Barrand & Amanda Witman

Join us every fourth Saturday from 3-5pm for pub songs and other such singing delights.

Come listen, sing along, or even lead a song or two. Pub songs, work songs, sea shanties, and other traditional songs are welcome. Songs from memory with easily joined-in choruses are favored.

The pub has some very excellent local brews on tap, as well as cider and seltzer and other fine imbibements, and food is available as well. All ages are welcome — children, too. Shelves of games and other amusements are available for the younger crowd.

Come join us!

*In January, come partake of the Northern Roots Festival, of which this pub sing is a part. In May, watch the Marlboro Morris Ale and take in the singing that is a part of that annual festival.

**Please note that the pub is not officially handicap-accessible, but that doesn’t stop Tony, so don’t let it stop you, either. Let us know if you need particular accommodations and we’ll do our best to help.
