The Old Mill
This session has recently migrated from The Stag, Llanidloes. The Old Mill is a recently opened cafe-bar, with hospitable proprieters, a relaxed atmosphere and appreciative punters.
The repertoire is very mixed, with tunes from many traditions (Welsh, Irish, English, French, Galician, Swedish, Bulgarian, Klezmer…), traditional and contemporary songs - anything is welcome, as long as it comes with mutual respect.
There are not many of us here that are dedicated to Irish music, but we are always keen to draw in others of our species. If you are thinking of dropping by, you can email me via my member profile and I’ll do my best to muster the troops. But if you’re more of an all-rounder, you’ll be equally welcome.
The venue is actually right in the centre of Llanidloes.
I should also add that The Old Mill is not actually *on* High St. but behind it, through a small passageway on the west side of the street.
Re: The Old Mill
Well, I showed up on Sunday and was told by a local fellow that the Bar has now closed. Does anyone know if the session will move to another pub?
Aled - You turned up the very day after it closed down! Sorry I wasn’t quicker about marking this session inactive.
We have moved the session to a new trial venue - The Crown and Anchor, Long Bridge St., Llanidloes. I hope to see you there sometime.
