Sunday session

Is your session "happening" this Sunday, March 8th?
I’ll be in Culver City for a rugby meeting and am looking for a friendly session to visit and play a bit of flute & whistle.
On past occasions, I’ve played at The Auld Dubliner, Finn’s, and Timmy Nolan’s. My home sessions are in San Luis Obispo and Grover Beach.
Thanks,
Chris Scott

Sunday session

Not sure how to answer a post, so I’ll just post. To Chscott, as far as I know the session at OBriens WILL be happening tonight. I would call just to be sure.
Cheers!

There’s nothing about this session on the pub’s website.

I called them tonight, and the bartender said that they do indeed have a Session on Sunday nights, starting about 8:30pm.

Re: O’Brien’s Irish Pub

Well, it turns out they have Sessions on Sunday nights except when there is a game on… brought my instrument all the way across the country for nothing. Bummer.

Re: O’Brien’s Irish Pub

Sorry we missed you, Whit! You had the bad fortune of turning up on the night when the NY Giants were the late game, and on those nights the session usually gets pre-empted by a bar full of raucous fans. Most other Sundays during NFL season we do play, but not until after the game, around 8:30 as you heard. The rest of the year it’s a 7:30 or 8:00 start.

Other than occasionally getting bumped for a full-house event (like a Giants game or Oscars viewing party) the session is still going strong. Sometimes it’s just three or four of us, sometimes as many as fifteen, more usually five or six — but we’re always happy to have folks drop in as they’re coming through town.
