Morro Bay Session

This is a traditional Irish Session playing from about 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Wednesday.

Morro Bay session

This session just changed venue in March, 2007. We are just 4 blocks further down the street, overlooking the water.

Morro Bay session

After wandering about the area for a month, we are back at our old digs at the Morro Bay Brewery. The name may change, since 2 of our session regulars are taking over the management and food department. Every Wednesday, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Morro Bay session

Our MB Brewery site has slipped away from us again.
We are searching for a new venue. Until we find one, please call Jonas Richardson at (805)528-4530 for our latest "temporary" site.

Morro Bay session movin’ to San Luis Obispo?

We seem to have found a somewhat willing venue at:
The Clubhouse at This Old House
740 W. Foothill Blvd.
San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
548-8500
GET A MAP | GET DIRECTIONS
It is a rugby/soccer sports bar attached to a pricey restaurant.
Nice place, in a nice location, on the outskirts of San Luis Obispo.
We will be there on the 1st., 2nd., and 3rd. Wedcnesdays of each month, from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m.. The 4th Wednesday we’ll probably be playing at our old venue at the Morro Bay Brewing Co. Playing level: Intermediate and above. All levels welcome.

… and back to Morro Bay Brew, again …

As of May 1st, 2008, we are back playing at the Morro Bay Brewing Company, every Wednesday night, from 6:30 to 9-9:30. Visitors are most welcome.

Morro Bay Session "on the road"

The Morro Bay Session is "on the road" again. The pub’s rent got raised through the roof, so they closed down and are looking for a new venue, as is the session. Wednesday, Aug. 5th, we will be playing at:
The Black Sheep Bar and Grill
1117 Chorro St.
San Luis Obispo, CA 93403
(805) 544-7433

Nice little pub, right in downtown SLO.
The usual, 6:30 to 9:30.

We are searching for a new long-term venue. Until we find one, please call Jonas Richardson at (805)528-4530 for our latest "temporary" site.

MB Session still "in transition"

The Black Sheep didn’t work out.
I’ll post the next venue as soon as I hear where it is …

MB Session still wandering

We are presently (9-3-09) playing at
Sally Loo’s
1804 Osos St
SLO, CA
a coffee house near San Luis Obispo’s Railroad Square.
It used to be Cafe Luna.
Still Wednesdays, 6:30 to 9:30ish.

MB Session wandering still

Our latest venue (10/21/09) is Linnea’s Coffee House on Garden St. in downtown San Luis Obispo. Still on Wednesdays, 6:30 to 9:30ish.

MB Session still "in transition"

Latest ‘new home’

Our present ‘home’ is at Blue Skye Cafe on the waterfront at Morro Bay Harbor. Beautiful spot. Good food, good beer, and great music!

Morro Bay Session moves to downtown San Luis Obispo

Our Morro Bay venue was closing at 8:00 p.m. on the dot, so we are trying out a new venue in downtown San Luis Obispo half a block away from the Mission itself. We are playing every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the SLO Co Pasty Co. (as in "pass-tee")and playing ‘til 9 or 9:30. They serve salads and lovely Cornish pasties, as well as beer and wine. Check their offerings and get directions at their web site: http://www.slocopastyco.com
We are a friendly session, and welcome traveling trad music players as well as those who enjoy just listening.

Re: SloCo Pasty Company

After 5 excellent years at the SLO Co Pasty Company, they decided to close their doors last Friday, 3/19/2016. We have moved our session to a new venue at the Oasis Moroccan Restaurant a mere 3 blocks away, at 675 Higuera St., San Luis Obispo, CA. From 5:30 to 9:00 or 9:30 pm. Great food, lovely owners, and they do serve wine and beer! Metered street parking until 6:00 pm.

Re: SLO Irish session

The SLO Irish session moved to the 7 Sisters Brewing Company, which sold to new ownership in 2019. It became The Oak & Otter Brewery. I left the session in July, 2019, so I don’t know what their operational status is, as of February, 2021. I am playing with the Irish session group in Santa Barbara at the present time. Garden sessions, well-spaced and masked on Sundays. ~~~ €hris~~~
