Session at Irish Murphy’s Geelong

Nice to hear of an Irish Murphy’s session at LAST!
I play a session at Irish Murphy’s in Geelong,Victoria every Sunday, from 5p.m.-8.30p.m. and it is cracking good craic!
The only difference is we only get ONE beer each per session.
Can anyone tell me why, when our sessions start off real quiet (and I MEAN real quiet;i.e. me and one other guy for the first hour) that the session ALWAYS turns out to be a great session with a great variety of very talented musicians. It always happens and I can’t for the life of me explain why and I’ve been doing it for three or four years now!

Demise of Session

Sorry everyone! This session died and I was a bit tardy to let you know. Management didn’t want to know. It must be said that some "players" turned up merely to collect their beer tickets, and not much more!

Sessions in Hobart

sorry again good people!
I refer again to this section in case I’ve done the wrong thing previously.

Irish Murphy’s does not, and likely will not, host an Irish Session.

Look for "The New Sydney".

Lovely session, looks after beginners as well as advanced, and everyone gets one free drink, even if you sing just one song or play just one tune!

Irish Murphy’s

Last Sunday of the month

Irish Murphys

This session takes place twice a month; on the second Sunday and the last Sunday of the month. It is mainly Irish tunes with anything from five to twenty players.

Re: Irish Murphy’s

This appears to be only on in the afternoon.

I looked in on second Sunday today but found session had finished.

Would be useful to add times.

Re: Irish Murphy’s

Great session for being able to hear yourself and other players. Regularly attracts an appreciative audience.

Second and last Sunday of every month, 2pm to 5pm.

Re: Irish Murphy’s

Just thought that you might like an update.
I’ve managed to get to a few recently, and the staff are very friendly, there’s no TV, and it’s in a nice spacious place, not crammed in. Listeners have plenty of space too!
Altogether a nice experience.

All the best
