The Crown Inn

On the third Tuesday. Not a session really, more of a turn-taking singaround, but if you don’t fancy singing and just want to play or recite poetry, that’s fine. Extremely friendly crowd of regulars, appreciative of what others do rather than just eager to perform and always more than happy to welcome (and grill!) newcomers.

Very friendly landlady and landlord, quite willing to let everybody stay a bit longer on a good night. One or two well-kept local ales on tap usually, decent food also available.

This one has been going forever, can’t imagine why I haven’t thought of posting earlier.

The Crown is set in fabulous walking country and offers B&B, so you might want to combine things if you travel from farther afield.

The Crown Inn

We play Welsh, Scottish, English, Scandi and World traditional music and meet on the first Thursday of the month from 1.30 pm until about 4pm. Visitors are welcome. We’ve been meeting to play tunes for over 6 years and about 8 members attend regularly. Visitors of all levels are welcome.

Re: The Crown Inn

I SO wish I could visit you guys on a Thursday. . but I’m at work!

Re: The Crown Inn

I’ve only just noticed the above additions.

So, to avoid confusion:

The folk singers’ night is on the third Tuesday.

The tune club mentioned by Jude is on the first Thursday.
