Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro

Our Tuesday session is hosted by veteran Chicago Irish musicians Frank Quinn and Larry Nugent. The session starts at 7pm every week and is welcoming to all skill levels.

Out Thursday session is hosted by Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal winning flute player Sean Gavin. The session is welcoming, but may be better suited for more advanced skill levels. It starts at 8pm weekly.

Sad, sad day! Just heard from Sean that there’s no more Thursday session. But, Tuesday is still on.

Larry Nugent and Frank Quinn lead a session of traditional Irish music, and a few songs to add to the mix.

Mr.s Murphy and Sons Bistro no longer has a Thursday evening session but the Tuesday session with Larry Nugget and the Wednesday session led by Sean Cleland are going strong.

Well-led session, nice mix of tunes, with a good welcome, all in a lovely Irish pub with pleasant staff: can’t ask for more.

I went along to the Tuesday night session last night and it was great!

I was made feel very welcome, and really enjoyed the tunes and the chat—there was a lovely atmosphere. Listening to Larry on the flute was a real pleasure. Great songs from Frank too.

Can you confirm for me what night sessions are taking place? I’ll be up there the last week in May with a music class I’m teaching and I’d love to bring them.

Sessions at Mrs. Murphy’s are now Wednesdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 1pm.
Larry Nugent & Frank Quinn lead the Wednesday session. Sean Cleland and the teachers from the Irish Music School of Chicago lead the Sunday session, which is kid friendly.
