I entirely agree - very friendly indeed, and a credit to all the regulars. The people who run the pub are extremely welcoming and take a lot of trouble to arrange the bar especially for us. We have plenty of room for more regular players to join our very committed members, swell the numbers, and contribute some new tunes that maybe we haven’t heard yet!

The session still takes place every first Wednesday of the month, from 8-11, or thereabouts. We welcome everybody, whatever their standard or ability, and we play English, Scottish, Irish, French-Canadian and American Old Time tunes - you name it. We don’t “take turns”: just jump in whenever there’s a gap and play whatever you want to. We now don’t have an August session, but apart from that we never close!
Numbers vary, but we have always managed to have a good session. The owners are very friendly and make sure that we are comfortably seated and undisturbed.
