Buckley’s Irish Pub

The session begins at 9pm. This bar is an extremly warm atmosphere with great food, beer, and service. And great crowd response.

This session starts April 12th and continues every monday after.

The original Buckley’s burnt down and they’ve built a new one - they feature Irish bands but I don’t think the sessions happen there anymore…

Are you still hosting sessions. We sure could stand to have one way out here on the east end!

The open session at Buckley’s runs from 7:30-10:00pm on the 1st Monday of the month. A set of experienced players will be present at each session but musicians of ALL levels are welcome. In the tradition of seisiuns, the focus is on instrumental tunes with some traditional songs mixed in. A set of tunes is posted at the session web site (https://jtmlife.wixsite.com/graftonstreetsession) but players are free to call whatever Irish tune they like when it’s their turn to lead. We’re happy to have less experienced musicians and students start and lead sets at their own pace. A set of session guidelines is posted at our web site. Our session group also meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Katie’s pub in Smithtown (see https://thesession.org/sessions/6900).

This post is overdue. Thew pandemic shut down our sessions (temporarily!) last March. We’re staying in touch on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/654639828323160) and arranging informal small outdoor sessions until the day arrives when it’s safe to gather our group in a pub again.

We haven’t resumed sessions at Buckley’s yet but we kept in touch through the pandemic and in recent months have been playing at the AOH (Ancient Order of Hibernians) Hall in Mount Sinai and at the Westhampton Beach Brewing Company.
