Pipers Corner

Music seven nights a week.

Re: Pipers Corner

I found this pub when I was in Dublin in early March from the advice of an acquaintance we know that lives in town. It is owned by piper Sean Potts (Jr) and I came in on a slow night and played some tunes with him though I didn’t know who he was at the time. I found out later the the fiddle player was Kevin Glackin (Paddy’s brother) and a great Bouzouki player/singer who’s name now escapes me. I played a two tune set and then wisely listened for the rest of my time there. They have played their entire lives together (Kevin and Sean at least) and the music sounded perfect without a note out of place. The best thing about it was sitting right next to Sean Potts and watching him work the pipes. I’ve never been so close to a musician with such mastery of the entire instrument. I didn’t play much at all but it was one of my best session experiences ever. Sean is humble, a complete gentleman and one of the best musicians I’ve ever played with. I would highly recommend a visit. I really hope Sean great success.

Popped in here on Friday night and listened to some lovely tunes (two fiddles and a flute).

The vibe was just right: lively enough, but still laid back and chilled out—nothing too boisterous. It’s like a hipster craft beer place crossed with an old man’s pub: really nice!

Keep an eye on the Twitter account—they update it most days with details of who will be playing: https://twitter.com/pipers_corner

Re: Pipers Corner

Is the place still open? I swung by on the 16th and there was a foreclosure sign?

Re: Pipers Corner

It’s Twitter feed is active and up to date as of today (18/7/18).
