The Sunday session, which had been running for many years in Connolly’s pub across the road, has now moved to Sextons’s pub, which is beside Green’s pub, and just across the road from Connolly’s pub ( which is closed at present). At the entrance to Kinvara village, about 30 mins drive from Galway.
Session starts about 6.30 in the evening, and is hosted by Mary Shannon on banjo, and Mary Staunton on accordion, two well experienced players with a wide repertoire, who have a warm welcome for any competent players. They usually have an invited guest, plus anyone else who is around. Great variety of tunes, and good songs.
Can continue well after 9.00pm.
Space is a bit cramped, so get there on time.
