The Q Bar, The Queens Hotel
The Traditional Scottish & Irish Music Session is every fortnight on a Wednesday and is free to all musicians and listeners. The skill level is advanced overall but anyone is more than welcome to play tunes or sing songs.
Re: The Mike McKay Sessions in The Q Bar, The Queens Hotel
The ‘Mike McKay Sessions’. This is a new fortnightly Traditional Music Session for Dundee named in memory of a fine fiddler and local musician Mike McKay who sadly passed away in August 2017. Although a new session on the block it seems to be very popular with musicians and listeners as it has a very easy going and welcoming atmosphere as well as being held in lovely plush surroundings in a hotel steeped in Dundee history.
Long may it continue!
Re: Bergie’s Bar
The Mike McKay Sessions have recently moved from the historic Queens Hotel, Dundee to Bergie’s Bar, Bell Street Dundee which is a nice lively cozy pub known for it’s music nights! The friendly Folk Music session is now held fortnightly on a Tuesday evening from 8pm to 11pm so fans of Traditional Scottish and Irish Music have a great new venue to get involved in the music or listen!
