Roundhill Pub

English Tunes Session, 2nd Wednesday of the month.
Open to all instruments. We play morris tunes, English dance tunes.

Re: Roundhill Pub

Excellent session. Mostly English tunes (Morris, ceilidh/barndance, playford/medieval, Northumbrian etc) the occasional Scottish or Irish, even ones from the continent (France, Finland, etc). Bringing tunes to try is encouraged.

There’s a Facebook group - search for: ‘English Dance Tunes Sessions @ The Roundhill’

There’s a PDF of an old cobbled together tune book floating about, and one of the players is in the process of digitising and standardising often called tunes. These can be found on the Facebook.

There’s usually a mix of fiddles, melodeons, concertinas, whistles, guitar, even an ukulele on occasion. If it can play in D and G, it’s welcome!

We’re a friendly lot!
