There’s a session on the first Friday of the month.
On the last Friday of the month, there’s a youth trad session from 7pm to 9pm.

Is it pretty friendly for a beginner? I don’t have a lot of tunes still but would love to sit in a session in Kilkenny as I’m here for a week or so.

Youthtrad at Kilkenny Home Rule Club is an opportunity for teenagers aged 13 to 18 to play together and learn new tunes. It is now on the 3rd Friday of every month 7 to 9pm. Changed day from pre-pandemic.
There is an additional trad music session which started recently: Fireside Sessions. For the moment every second Tuesday, Open House format, starts 8.30pm.
1st Friday is a hosted trad night.
