Holy Nativity Episcopal Church

6700 West 83rd Street
(at Dunbarton Avenue)
Westchester, CA 90045
Sunday 2-4 pm
We play in the church hall, which can be entered through the courtyard
to the left of the main church entrance, or through the hall’s double doors that face Dunbarton Avenue.
Bring your fiddle, mandolin, guitar, cello, bohdran, flute, etc. and join us for a friendly session of Celtic tunes. We play tunes at a medium tempo (fast enough to sound good, but not as fast as a pub session.) All acoustic instruments welcome.
Ample parking is free on the street.
Tunes: The King Street Sessions Tunebook, used by this session, can be downloaded for free/optional donation here: http://www.pacholo.com/mike/.
Many of the tunes we play are taken from the Celtic Arts Center Slow Session list (http://www.ellwood.org/slow/) If that list looks daunting, here are tunes that always get critical mass.
Drowsy Maggie
Harvest Home
Morrison’s Jig
Cooley’s Reel
Temperance Reel (The Teetotaller)
Banish Misfortune
The Musical Priest
The Wind that Shakes the Barley
The Merry Blacksmith
Fisher’s Hornpipe
Kesh Jig

Are these sessions still going on?
