The Honor Oak Pub

Tonight (Tues 3rd May 2022) was the first session here and it went very well. I counted 12 players. Quite varied repertoire and range of skills, so let’s call it “inclusive”, but with enough strong players to carry the session. The pub was relatively quiet, so you could hear yourself (and the other players) play the tunes. And it’s actually a nice boozer – free drinks for players, though no-one took the p!ss, just a couple of beers (all you need anyway, if you’re playing.)
We are hoping this will become a regular weekly session - pretty sure we should be back next week, but I will update info as required.
Not to be missed!

Ha ha! Tuesday?! I’ll have to come over there just to see. Nice quiet pub? Excellent! At least it’s fractionally nearer SW19 than the BHT!!! I’d like to say ‘See you next Tuesday’ at sometime.

Just got a message back from the landlady, saying the following:

“….Everyone loved it….I would be honoured if you played here whenever you wanted…”

Quite an accolade. But let’s just stick to Tuesday nights for the time being 😊
Next Tuesday it is then. Hopefully forever more??

A quick reminder that we hope to play a few tunes at the session in the Honor Oak Pub, tomorrow (Tuesday17th May) 9pm.

I appreciate some people may not be around or have other commitments. But if you can make it, it’s definitely a worthwhile session venue. Oh, and free beers/drinks!

Only 3 of us played last week but it turned out a lot of fun and a pleasant evening. Contrast this to the 12 at the previous week’s sesh!

Last Tuesday, 8 of us started playing at 8.30pm but the barman said we can start even earlier, 8pm or even 7pm! Free chips brought over, as well as a couple of free drinks!

Is there a session tonight?

Yes - that’s the plan anyway. 8.30pm start, in theory.

Turned out not too bad despite a dearth of players, eh?

Sorry but a lack of a sufficient number of regular core players has led me to postpone the Tuesday night session till possibly end of August 2022. I will keep you updated.

Has this session ever restarted by any chance?

Matt - not restarted as far as I know, but you’d be welcome to restart it. If you do, please let me know.
