The Primrose

Sessions have started again at the Primrose, meeting on the Monday most weeks. It’s a tea-time session, with people turning up from 5.30 after work and wrapping up by 8 at the latest. It’s a friendly intermediate session for people who have outgrown a learner’s group, can already play an instrument, but maybe don’t yet know a vast number of trad tunes. It’s a social session, with a bit of chat discussing the music, and notes are allowed.

It’s ideal if you want to play slightly faster or learn some new non-core tunes. Regular tunes include: Banish Misfortune, Cooley’s, Glass of Beer, Kid on the Mountain, Hardiman’s, Dunmore Lasses, Pride of Petravore, Bombay Dog, Sergeant Early’s and Come in from the Rain. Most weeks we have whistle, banjo, violin, guitar and bodhran. Send me a message if you are interested… or just turn up!
