The Grapes

Traditional Irish Music Session for Intermediate Players. Monthly
Second Wednesday of the Month. 7:30pm – 10pm. Beginning May 2023.
Are you interested in joining a Traditional Irish only Music Session for Intermediate Players in Sheffield once a month. The group aims to provide a space for players who are not absolute beginners but wish to play their instruments at a steady pace, not fast. A willingness to share and teach each other Trad. Irish tunes only, in sets, will be encouraged. Singers will be disappointed as this is mainly a music playing session only. Tunes will generally follow the repertoire of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann format as in their published tunes Book 1 to begin with: Foinn Seisiún Book - Volume 1
Tunes will be played at a steady speed through to give each player time to familiarise themselves with the tune set and then to up their pace to a reasonable speed and / or lead a set. The session will be conducted by an Intermediate Trad. Irish Player. If you are interested and can possibly attend you are very welcome. Please contact with your availability and contact details. And you will be forwarded further details and the session etiquette.
