Weds at the Red Lion

Good beer, nice venue but poor acoustics. Diverse musical styles here - blues, bluegrass, jazz, hardcore folk singing, traditional Irish, Welsh, English, Scottish. Pot luck really, but all of these get at least one outing in the average evening.

***venue Change***

This session has moved across the road to The Elephant.

***********death***********

This session is now deceased.

Monthly

This session has been revived but is now on the 1st Wednesday of the month only.

Weekly Sunday Session

There is now a weekly Sunday session at The Red Lion. Unlike the monthly Wednesday session (which is predominantly singer-guitarists, with mostly non-traditional repertoire), the Sunday session is biased towards traditional tunes, having replaced the Sunday session at The Crown and Anchor.

Repertoire can be a mix of Irish, Welsh, English, Scottish, Scandinavian, French, American, Canadian, Bulgarian, Klezmer… No bar on other styles (tunes or songs).
