B not b ~ 😏

The ABCs are now corrected, from (3Abd to (3ABd, but the ABCs here in the comments above, from the Roche collection, still contain the problem triplet, in the second part. Apologies for missing that…

Where does the word Redowa come from it sounds Polish etc?

From one of many online dictionaries ~

Czech rejdovák,
from rejdovati = ‘to guide around’…

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/redowa

red-o-wa [‘red’-uh-wuh, -vuh]
–noun
a Bohemian dance in two forms, one resembling the waltz or the mazurka, the other resembling the polka.

Origin:
1855–60; < French rédowa or German Redowa < Czech rejdovák, derived from rejdovat = to steer, wheel about

Re: The Limerick Redowa

The third part of the third setting does not seem to fit well with parts one and two. Sounds a bit awkward. Or it just me?

Limerick Redowa

I’ve been working on the second version of the "Limerick Redowa" (mazurka). The third part does not seem to fit smoothly with the other two parts. I don’t have enough musical vocabulary to say why. It just sounds off. Does anyone find this so?

Re: The Limerick Redowa

Second and third settings above have slight phrasing differences but are the same tune in different keys. Personally, I don’t find that the third part in either example sounds out of keeping with parts 1 & 2 (or A & B for those who prefer it that way). Slightly different flavour perhaps, but then isn’t that often the way with third parts: they can add a bit of variety.

I’m sure I’ve come across this tune in another guise. It’s not one of those that goes by by the generic title of ‘Varsoviana’ is it?
