Eleven comments

Am I mistaken in thinking this tune is actually in Adorian?

Ador?

That’s weird - the ABCs say Ador, but the signature seems to be Amix. Is this one of those where the ‘correction’ has happened after production of the sheet music?

So, which is it?

Could someone who has heard the tune confirm which mode it’s supposed to be in?

Thanks in advance!

Dor

Have a listen to the clip, muspc. It’s in Dorian. There are other things that don’t look quite right about the transcription, to me … I mean, I know Brian varies it a lot on each time through, but I don’t think he plays what’s written here, even after you correct the key signature …

Chords

Does anyone have the guitar chords for this (awesome) tune?

(Colin) Goldie’s perhaps?

Is it possible that this was written in recognition of Colin Goldie, brilliant whistle maker, notwithstanding the opening comments?

I know that Brian Finnegan uses some of Colin’s whistles.

However I’d accept that if liner notes suggest otherwise that it is as stated. I don’t have the recording, though I know the tune.

All the best

Re: Goldies

@Damien Rogeau - I really enjoyed listening to that, thanks. Is there a simple way of describing the tonguing you’re doing in the A part?

Re: Goldies

@Zeffa - Thank you for your message. I’m not sure I can help you with the tonguing, I’m doing it without thinking about it, probably when I want to emphasize a note on a strong beat I imagine. (also sorry for replying with a year of delay)
