The air is based on a French song "La Corsaire" ( a shanty that borrows itself notes from Irish tunes such as Cooley’s) aka "Allons Les Gars, Gai, Gai" or ’ Up an Run Awa’ ’

A scottish pipe tune that is normally played in Bminor on top of the A drones: which gives it a delicious quirkiness, especially when it reaches for those low and high g’s (see below)…
