In response to a recent tune request, and from Wolfstone’s Year of the Dog album (1994). A very catchy tune and ideal before Richard Dwyer’s Reel as it is on the album. I’ve tried to find out who wrote it, but because I don’t have the CD anymore I can’t check the liner notes. If anyone knows, then please add as a comment.
Tune Title
Can anyone shed any light on the rather bizaar tune title too?
Written by…
Thanks for posting the tune. It was written by Ivan Drever, Wolfstone singer at the time. Of the title’s origins, I haven’t a clue.
The“Dinner” of the title refers to Wolfstone’s Sound Engineer at the time, latterly with Blazing Fiddles and now resident at The Iron Works in Inverness. “Dinner” is well known and respected throughout the music industry. As for his jacket, one can only assume that there was a tale about Alan (Dinner) and one of his fishing exploits.
I don’t have the liner notes either but it would probably have been written by Duncan Chisholm
Re: Dinner’s Dangerous River Jacket
No, it was composed by Ivan Drever, as ukejosh mentioned above.
