Patsy Maloney’s

I learnt this off Garry Shannon’s album, “Loozin’ Air”, and always kind of assumed it would be on this site, until I realised just now that it wasn’t.

I’m afraid there’s not much else I can say about this tune - I don’t know who wrote it (or if it’s known who, even), and I’ve never heard it played in a session, or anywhere else in fact, apart from Garry’s album.

This reel is attributed to Patsy Moloney, Brimingham flute player. Here’s Marcus Hernon’s version:

The Temple in the Glen

It turned out that this reel was indeed composed by Birmingham-based flute player Patsy Moloney. It appears on his recent solo album. The title of the tune may refer to Templeglantine, West Limerick, where Patsy originally comes from.

Re: The Temple In The Glen

Great tune by my old pal Patsy which I’ve heard a few times being played by the man himself in the Spotted Dog, Birmingham.
