This is a cracking tune by Farquhar MacDonald (best known for the Tongadale Reel)

The title refers to the collie dog belonging to a local character in Carbost, Skye, nicknamed Bam. Most working dogs in Skye respond to Gaelic commands so Bam got some stick in the pub because his dog came from England and didn’t have the Gaelic.
