Devil The Care has been added to 14 tunebooks.
The manuscript I have in front of me tells me it was written down by P. Donovan date given 1749. I believe he composed it, I’m not sure of the Key as it is very blurred and faded. I have set in the Key of ‘Dmajor’ though this could be wrong, I would appreciate very much if any one could tell me the right key!
I don;t know "the answer" but after a couple of turns of aural transmission I reckon those g’s would probably have tended to sharp. They sound ok natural but IMHO the straightforward character of the rest of the tune doesn’t give enough support to keep them natural.
Naaah! not D maj or A maj
I think that’s just another version of the tune published here already as "Johnny Leary’s"
Yes, works well in A dorian.
