This was played by a visiting piper (sorry Billy, don’t know your surname) in Ballycastle last Saturday. It was new to me, and I was taken by the twist in the second part. It was written by American (?) guitarist Russ Barenberg, and feeding the title into youtube brings up video of the composer playing it with Aly Bain and others on the Transatlantic Sessions show. That’s where this transcrition is from.
Oh dear. I’m a debutant abc writer, and now the sheetmusic has come up, I see that the second and third notes of the penultimate bar are in the wrong octave. I’ve corrected the abc, but presumably the dots are carved in stone.
Hey @Jerry O’Donnell,
Great transcription. It’s a beautiful tune. I discovered it on Russ Barenburg’s album and didn’t expect to find it here. It’s sure is beautiful though! 🙂
