Petrie’s #357
"As sung in Munster"
Transcribed as in the book, save for the repeats. The last cAdcAG bit doesn’t have natural "c"s like the other parts— that’s the way it’s noted, not my mistake! ;p

Eb Version

Petrie’s 358

As the last version, notated as in the book— just formatted the bars so that the repeating phrases were more obvious.

Another D version

Petrie’s 359

Again, put in repeats, formatted bars for structural clarity.

A bit easier to read (for some of us)…

this way (to take the E flat version for example):

In the D versions…

the way you’ve done the repeats leaves the tune a beat short.

By the way, have you heard it performed with repeats?

Thanks for the tune!

You’re welcome! I like the first version the most, personally. 🙂
The reason why the last bar of each part is missing a beat is because it leads back to the pick-up notes at the beginning.
And I probably should have spaced-out the eighth notes into pairs for readability in the main version.

What I meant about the repeats was…

that they didn’t go back far enough, so there would be a beat shy in the repeat. I see that’s been corrected in the main entry, but the problem still stands in the Petrie’s 359 version. Not a big deal, as almost everyone would add in the missing beat either consciously or unconsciously, so I should probably shut up now! 🙂

Fixed the ABC to make it more readable.

For comparison…

here’s the Eb ‘version’ dropped to D:

X: 1

M: 3/4
L: 1/8
R: waltz

B/2d/2c/2B/2 AFEF | D3 E FA | {G}B3 F AF | E2 D2 D2 | D4 |]

It’s really quite different! I’m enjoying them all, though. Thanks again!
