Nice slow reel here- I have transcribed it in Em for low D whistle, but the original appears to be in Bbm and I suspect is played on an Ab whistle- don’t own one of them and perhaps won’t be in a hurry to get one. Please comment if you think I’ve got this wrong, and it is perhaps played on the higher registers of a low Eb whistle or something equally mind-bending?
Rollmop - I sent you a message a couple of days ago but incase you didn’t get it the tune was written by Peter Tickell. It was written in Am (and should probably be transcribed as such). It was played on the Dust album in Bbm as you say but on an Eb whistle rather than an Ab whistle.
I suspect the clock is ticking on the sheetmusic being converted. Please could you change the transcription before that point?
Ah, my apologies, I seem to have been run over by the hardcopy sheetmusic juggernaut. Will try to post at least the ABCs for the Abm key later on… (I think you meant Abm rather than Am- or am i needing to have another listen..)
and at the risk of looking really stupid and unobservant, how does one send/read private messages on this site?
No I don’t mean Abm - I mean Am. On the cd they play it up half a step from that in Bbm or so I am told. I have not heard the track myself yet, I am only passing on a message.
You read a private message by reading your email - it is sent there. You send a private message by clicking on a person’s username and clicking on "send an email". To reply you would need to go into thesession and send a new message. You can not click "reply".
Shame you didn’t get the message in time. Jeremy did leave them a few days before converting.
gotcha- Am it is. This evening will try to upload that. As for the messages- they must go to my "spam" email account- very remiss.
Here we go in Am (recorded version is in Bbm, for the avoidance of confusion)
