Short Mesure Off My Lady Wynkylds Rownde

This is a medieval tune (hence the archaic spelling of the title) transcribed from THE BONES OF ALL MEN by Phillip Pickett (with Richard Thompson and the Fairport rhythm section.)

Structurally, the A part is 9 measures + 9 measures. The B part is 10 measures long. Though it’s in 3/4, I don’t think I’d really call it a "waltz".

??

Grand … but what’s it got to do with ITM? Would anyone play it, like in this genre??

Lady Wynkfyld

And you’ve spelt it wrong.

But yes, what has it to do with any trad? Are we supposed to post any old classical music here now?

You folks really crack me up!

Then you should DEMAND the list owner remove the tune, and also scrub all the Northumbrian material, John Kirkpatrick, Dave Swarbrick, High Level Ranters, Richard Thompson, Morris On, Son Of Morris On, Grandson of Morris On, Martic Carthy, Quebecois, Playford dances and every other tune and. album listed onsite that doesn’t meet "Iroid Purity" criteria.

"Jump At The Sun" is an ENGLISH tune witten by that English bogeyaccordionman, John Kirkpatrick, and it remains that regardless of whether any "Irish" bands record it. And while you’re at, are there any of Andy Irvine’s or Davey Spillane’s balkan or balkanesque tunes around? Send those off to the liquidation camp as well, filthy genre-mixing mongrel sub-music.

PS: When you die, may you be be locked in a cell for eternity with some bluegrass fantatics, AND several ultra-dogmatic classical snobs; you all deserve each other! 🙂 Bye!
