This is the reel that goes along with Alistair Fraser’s slow march/slide "Independence Trail" submitted a few days ago. This was also learned from Liz Doherty at the University of Ulster in Derry.
As far as playing this one goes, I like to break up those quarter note/2 eighth notes that tend to begin a bar with a cut and then slur the two eighth notes throughout. You could also mess around with adding an extra C natural between the Bs and D, on the A string, between the Cs, in bars 1 and 2 for example. This is a great one. Happy playing!
