Is that you I hear snoring SP? Or is that just the sound of your drones? 😀

Do you know any Jim Johnstone melodies?
Transcribed by?

Any other aliases? 😀
Source Peter Morisson via facebook, I just tried to play it and transformed it to abc.
I still have to balance out some sins I made, especially posting selfpinned stuff, but that get’s a bit more difficult nowadays as there is a lot here already. Anyway the tune is great and I have to learn it as soon as my rigt hand is more usefull again - I got some repetitive strain injury, working all day with the mouse and piping in the evening can be too much when done for days!
PM Jimmy McGregor was with the Gordon Highlanders, and also was “royal” piper on the Balmoral estate. His son, of the same name, was also a piper and adjudicator.
The tune appears in The Gordon Highlanders, Bk 2 and was composed by John Scott.
I only know the version on “An Clár Geal” of Alasdair White https://thesession.org/recordings/2210
Any idea why it does not appear on the list of the recordings of tunes with this name?

No idea, when you mentioned, An Clár Geal, I wondered the same thing. Spelt exactly the same on the recording track list as the abc. Strange.
Anyway, cracking jig and another John Scott tune, thanks.
And thanks weejie for the collection reference.

Swiss, sorry to hear of this, me too, at times, same causes. I hope it clears soon, but you do know you need to get some sleep too…
😉
I’ve just tried cutting and pasting from the recording’s track list, but that also didn’t work. Strange… I’ll drop a line to Jeremy.
Score! You can remove the duplication, one or t’other…

Eddie Seaman & Luc McNally….
Middle tune. I really like the high quality recordings these guys make.
