This is what can be heard played by Tony McCarthy on "A time of change" album. Is this a composition ?
This quite simple tune fits particularly well for dancing a "cercle circassien", as you can dance it during a Fest-Noz, in Brittany or elsewhere.
It can be played with a lot of variations, for example in an alternate last 2 bars’ 2nd time ending :
~G3 BAB | dAF DEF |
Not sure that I’ve seen a jig with 4 measures to each part; are you sure that’s the whole of it?
Also, it feels like there is a key change in the second part to G, which doesn’t matter much for the tune, but would for the accompaniment.
"Not sure that I’ve seen a jig with 4 measures to each part; are you sure that’s the whole of it?"
It’s rare, but there are a few out there - this one sounds complete as it is.
