“The Old Torn Petticoat” ~ as a hornpipe

You’ll find another hornpipe version in the comments for the reel, here ~

Which reminded me of that general alternative way with it. After all, hornpipes are constantly ironed out into reels, and the same for all those lovely highland flings, so why not the other way round, as here. I’d love to see other hornpipe takes on this one if you or someone you know has given it that swing…

For button’s sake I usually add an ironed out version in the comments, but as the reel is already here that should suffice. 😉

There’s no point ironing out an old torn petticoat, Ceol. It’s probably time to be thinking about a new one.

Pleated in this case…

I like this one as a slide, it’s called the Leprechaun. I think everytime I try to play it it’s mistaken for a hornpipe or a reel, this is probably why.
