I would point out that Rog is being too modest though. This is actually one of his own tunes. Could you tell us a bit about where the name comes from?
Thanks Alastair for the nice remarks. It’s named after the famous Pinnacle Ridge of Sgurr nan Gillean on Skye - it has a very distinctive profile when seen from the Carbost direction.
The tune is really to commemorate my parents’ ruby wedding anniversary - we bought them a guided day out and they climbed this route, by all accounts taking it in their stride. Pretty good for non-climbers with a combined age of about 130…
Your parents did better than I when I climbed this a couple years ago, Roger, as they presumably did not top out at 9pm and ab off in the fading light. 😉
