Beautiful tune from Aidan O’Rourke

Written by Aidan O‘Rourke of LAU, Blazin’ Fiddles, and now KAN, from their new album, ‘Sleeper’, probably my favorite tune from the album.

The A-part is almost more like an intro of sorts, as on the album, it is only played at the beginning, the phrasing for the tune being done AA BB CC BB CC C, adding an extra C-part to the end.

Obviously, not something that would be in sessions, but I know those who aren’t keen to learn by ear will be coming here looking for dots, so…. If you’ve not heard it, it’s more a nice slow melody to listen to, rather than for dancing.

Coriolis Force: an artifact of the earth’s rotation

This is the “force” that makes bath water, as it drains away, rotate in a different direction in north & south hemispheres - so perhaps the tune should go round & round?
