Are You Ready Yet? reel

Well done for the notation of this tune…I love that Dan

Tom Doorley, flute and whistle player for Danu, composed this tune. He is a great spirit and a much overlooked flute player. He has a unique style and is very exciting to listen to.

There Is a traditional tune in O’Neills by the same name. I don’t remember the number off the top of my head, but it’s a very cheerful reel in A.

this is a magic tune!! cant get the hang of the 3rd part yet tho..

I’m not keen on this one. The 1st part is too repetitive and the 3rd part sounds too much like other tunes like Mayor Harrison’s Fedora and Colonel McBain.

I enjoy playing this one by cutting the third part and using it to lead into either another Em reel or an Am reel. I find as a two-part tune it works quite well!

Over 5 years later, I revisit this and play around with it, listen to the YouTube clip, think again, and nope, it’s still not one of my faves.

Damn, you mean we’re zombies Dow, you and I “lack a pulse”? It’s not just off any consideration as a ‘fav’, it’s irritating, and worse when takes off with the BANG, BANG, BANG!!! Oh my achin’ ears! Yuck! 😛 of should that be Blewch! 😏
