Also known as Queen’s Jigg.
Queen's has been added to 11 tunebooks.
No connection whatsover with Queen’s hornpipe that is already posted to session.org.
Occasionally played at the Tuesday session at the Golden Guinea pub in Redcliffe, Bristol (UK).
A very simple tune, and yet it somwhow seems to punch a little above its weight.
And a very old tune (early 18th century) - first published in Playford’s Dancing Master as "Queen’s Jigg" in 1703.
It seems likely that the "Queen" refers to Quen Anne, who ascended the throne in 1702.
