This also goes nicely a bit lower, including just a step donw to G Major. I’ll add a transcription in G later… However, for those shy on other instruments, high G#s are easy on winds, relatively… 😉

Just as a something of nothing, paste this abc listing into the Folkinfo.org converter and see what
~ CHECK AGAINST ALL THE D.S.
produces - I won’t ask how I play it

"very interesting" (Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-in)

All the best

:-d

Oops! I was checking this ABC transcription against others, and the way that it was transcribed in Donald’s book. I forgot to remove the "~ CHECK AGAINST ALL THE D.S."

That’s nuts… Here it is repeated but without the flub ~

Thanks Peter, appreciated, and I’ve removed it from the original submission. I’ve just noted that I’d left it on all the versions I’d transcribed, including from different players. I’d first added it to one transcription and then used that as a root to do the others. 😀

Funny that though Nigel, did you read the opening comment? "The Beaton Family" and "The Beatons of Mabou" are one and the same. Check your transcription against the one I’ve submitted ~ line-by-line, your transcription second:

Sandy MacIntyre’s March

ceolachan said ""The Beaton Family" and "The Beatons of Mabou" are one and the same…"

Didn’t clock that.

"Check your transcription against the one I’ve submitted ~ line-by-line, your transcription second…"

Wow. Are they identical? That’s amazing! I transcribed mine in the middle of the night in pencil, planning to submit it today - you beat me to it. I didn’t look at your submitted version, only the ones in the notes, which seemed markedly different to mine.

Yes, the transcription from the book is quite different, especially the snaps… 😀
