Crowley’s reel

Those strange lumps in the 4th and 7th measures, and the fact that the seventh measure is way too long tell me , among other things that this one needs a little tinkering with! Keep working at it---and read your abc tutorials!

Lowsong, actually the 4th measures of each part are the only measures with correct note values at all! 😀

Oh dear, I really wouldn’t know where to start here. Okay, I recognize these FED-phrases as triplets, but apart from that… Charlotte6404 didn’t even bother to leave a comment. There’s an increasing amount of those messy ABC-kludges appearing here lately, isn’t it? 😏 The other “reel” she submitted (which is a jig) looks much better though.

It’s happened again! Well I’ve tidied it up as best I can, guessing at which beats need to be longer etc.

I heard this tune in a session a few weeks ago and recorded it. And here’s my transcription of the version played in this session.

I rather like the original, somewhat clumsily notated, version of Charlotte6404. Slightly amended, without triplets, and played in 5/8 and 7/8, it turns out to be some kind of bumpy jig ….
