Barrel Rafferty’s

From The Dangerous Reel by Mike & Mary Rafferty, and also on New Day Dawning by Cherish The Ladies.

Barrel Rafferty’s

Also on Danny O’Mahony’s "In Retrospect"
(although for some reason it hasn’t linked up with the album)

Barrel Rafferty’s, X:2

I set out to learn a jig called Tommy Gaffey’s on Paul Smyth’s CD, "Paul Smyth" (https://thesession.org/recordings/5101), and quickly realized it was a variant (and a lovely one) of "Barrel Rafferty’s" jig as given here from the LP album by Mike and Mary Rafferty, "The Dangerous Reel". It isn’t distinctive enough to need a new name, but is different enough to be noted here. Paul follows it on his recording with a jg he calls "Jack Coen’s" which is not the same as any "Jack Coen’s" jigs I’ve heard before, and on a youtube video recorded at Custy’s he follows it with Hughie Traver’s reel (#2).
