I was unsure as to whether to post this tune or not, but when I noticed another tune with ‘Kenmure’ in the title here in the tunes section, I thought it had to be done.

A few weeks ago I went to visit a friend for a game of Scrabble. We finished one game and started a second one at about 1.45 in the morning. After an hour or so, we began to notice the intervals between moves becoming steadily longer, and decided it would be wise to grab a few hours sleep and resume the game in the morning. I crashed out on the sofa and when I woke up next morning this tune came into my head. Kenmure Mansions in the name of the block where my friend’s flat is situated, in Ealing, West London.

It’s a very simply structured tune, and not difficult to play once you get used to the slightly unusual key. I think it has a Scots or Donegal feel to it - probably because I was listening to Alasdair Fraser the night before (I haven’t dared listed to the CD again since, in case I discover that it’s not really my own tune at all).
