The Borthwick

This reel was composed by champion fiddler Bob Hobkirk. The Borthwick Water is the river that runs along the bottom of the valley in which I live.
Version 1 I learnt from Iain Fraser and is easier on the fiddle than the original (version 2, taken from The Scots Fiddle Vol 2 by J Murray Neil) which requires G# notes to be played with the pinky on the D string. Version 3 is from the flute playing of Clare Lynas (of Espial).
